Haay. I'm finally putting Ep 13's review. I had to watch it twice to get everything right. And sometimes, being spoiler-free for an ep makes my head explode. -_-
1. Earth was founded by the thirteenth tribe which we will call hereinforth as “Cylons”
2. 2000 years ago, Earth experienced a nuclear holocaust just like in Kobol and in the twelve colonies.
3. Ellen is the final cylon
4. Chief, Tigh, Anders, Ellen and Tory all died in the holocaust. But there is a way that all of them were reborn at around the same time.
5. Kara is not really Kara. Real!Kara was in her viper that crash landed on Earth. New!Kara burned her old self and was going to tell Lee, but Dee died so Lee went all emo on her.
6. Gaeta is thinking of something huge.
Okay, so these set of information pose another set of questions. Like:
1. If the Cylons were created by man, how the hell did they occupy Earth almost 2000 years ago?
2. Who nuked the “cylons” and why were they nuked?
3. How the hell were Chief, Tigh, Anders, Ellen and Tory reborn as cylons on the colonies? And why can’t they remember a lot about their old lives? And why can’t they answer anything on the reborn thingy?
4. How did New!Kara came about? How did she come back to life without her old body? Who made her come back with a brand new spankin’ viper? Why did they bring her back to life and back to the fleet?
5. Who the frak’s orchestrating this whole thing? And is this a never ending cycle as D’Anna said?
I feel sad for Roslin. It’s one thing to discover what you believe in is gone now, but to lose your faith? The woman basically went from saying “I love you” to “Don’t touch me” to Adama in a span of one episode.
It was exciting overall but still a filler episode (Question: can you set up big plots without filler episodes to establish the grounds of the plot? WHut?). The episode is setting up the revolution within the colonials. Roslin giving up her meds to live the life she wants before dying. Gaeta being all sneaky and one-legged. The fact that every actor in the opening credits appeared on this ep. And of course, the ending that made me go all shocked (and to put emphasis on shocked, we pronounce it as “sho-ked”) then giggle then fall dead.
I liked the shot they used of Baltar smoking and just lounging around while his followers surround the fighting Hotdog and Chief. Helo’s still swinging between the underdog and the military (he’s leaning towards the military for this ep). And I love the sort-of gratuitous leg shots of Mary McDonnell. Since they can’t show the gloriousness of her real hair since Roslin’s all bald, they went with the legs because they just have to rub it in our faces that she has great legs (and great boobies). We get it. But don’t stop with the shots, I (I don’t know about the rest) love them.
The fleet is basically destroying itself from the inside. I really don’t know what Zarek wants. I actually resented Zarek’s speech. He twists information because he knows that there are people who see things that way. Is he trying to destroy the human race? Because he knows that if he takes out Roslin, he loses the support of the military. And even if they’re all disillusioned and suicidal, they still follow Adama. And if Adama leaves, who the frak’s going to order people around to protect themselves?
(Tigh’s with Adama. Helo would probably go too. Lee would realize what the bunch of ingrates the colonials are and would go emo in one corner. Starbuck will be Starbuck. Zarek would then be overthrown and be replaced by Baltar).
The problem with Gaeta is that he started as one of the most idealistic characters in the show and the things that he’d been through is leading him to think that leading a mutiny is the right thing. If they continue with this, everyone’s going to end up dead before the series ends. Haha!
And with the way things are going, I won’t be surprised if both Roslin and Adama drop everything and leave the fleet to destroy itself.
I can so feel that the end is near. Roslin and Adama got together already. The end is so frakking near
In other news, I have a political beat due later and I don't have anything yet. It's supposed to be an alternative political news. Haller. Whatever.
